The Texas Superintendents’ Certification Institute provides participants with a certification program that requires minimal on-site attendance. The program is formatted as 10 on-site sessions (one every four- to six-week period). Each module requires an opening on-site session and a closing on-site session over the course of two Saturday meetings; the remaining coursework is completed conveniently online, and includes interaction with the other participants and the course facilitator.
The TSCI curriculum is written and facilitated by experienced superintendents and central office staff, and is fully aligned to the TExES test standards and objectives. In addition, all program participants are required to have campus- or district-level experience and an accomplishment record, thereby providing a real-world perspective to each course. A real-world perspective and the incorporation of best practices are guided by an advisory committee of highly-experienced, knowledgeable administrators.
