Certification Exam
ESC Region XIII and ESC Region 20 alternate from year to year in recommending candidates to take
the Superintendent Certification Exam.
- 2007-2008 – Region XIII is the recommending program
- 2008-2009 – Region 20 is the recommending program
- 2009-2010 – Region XIII is the recommending program
- 2011-2012 – Region 20 is the recommending program
Once you have been recommended to take the exam, you will need to register online via the Texas Educator Certification website to take the certification exam on a specific date.
Certificate Information
Once a candidate has completed all TSCI program requirements and passed the certification exam, the TSCI program formally recommends the Superintendent Credential on your behalf to the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC). Participants must set up and/or use their online account with SBEC to apply for the Superintendent Certificate.
You must apply online at the SBEC website. Please be sure to contact the TSCI program staff to let them know that you have applied for the certificate in the SBEC system. You can monitor your approval status for the credential by logging in to your SBEC account periodically. Contact SBEC for additional assistance.
