The state-wide opt-in K-12 Databases program provides access to online research databases. Resources currently include a broad range of age appropriate, authoritative and relevant materials from Britannica Digital Learning and EBSCO Publishing. Access is 24/ 7/ 365 to students, teachers, parents and school leaders from school and home.

Students today are exposed to more information than their grandparents were in a lifetime. Constructive and targeted integration of quality digital resources like the K-12 Databases enables students to acquire, practice, and apply higher order thinking skills resulting in better learning outcomes and better preparation for life after high school. Who to thank:
Despite elimination of state funding, the K-12 Databases program continues to exist on an opt in basis. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) has negotiated a very low per student fee for the perviously state-funded EBSCO and Britanncia K-12 pacakges.
