1. In order to participate
as a Local Academy, the district must first submit an Innovative
Course Application to TEA. The letter of approval must be presented
at the time that the district commits to offer the program. The application
should be submitted to TEA in early spring if the district wants
to start the program the next fall. Click here to see a sample
Innovative Course application (pdf file).
2. The district must
choose two instructors who will receive training. One of the instructors
will be the primary instructor and the other will be a back-up instructor.
A main contact for the program must also be chosen. It is preferable that
the main contact be someone who will oversee the program in a supervisory
role rather than an instructor.
3. The district must
sign the Region 20 Cisco Academy Agreement Form*.
4. The district must
fill in the Main Contact Information Form*.
5. Once we have the
Innovative Course Approval letter, the Agreement Form, and the Main Contact
Information Form we will submit the information from the instructors and
main contact to Cisco's Networking Academy site. The instructors will
be notified by the Cisco Networking Academy Program through email when
their information has been added. The email will contain further instructions
for registration on the site.
6. The equipment
package for the course should be ordered as soon as possible.
7. Instructors should
register for summer training on the Cisco
Networking Academy site.
*Please contact the Region
20 Cisco Academy contacts for the necessary forms.
